Issue 3 / October 2005 TWO
FEATHERS IN THE BOND MAN’S CAP! I’ve
just returned from a fleeting visit to London to formalise an
agreement between The Bond Man and
Omega Mortgage Services Limited (UK).
There are obvious synergies between our respective businesses,
which I look forward to developing as Omega’s official
representative in South Africa. For several years, the guys
from Omega have been bringing out exhibitions to South Africa
to market property developments in the UK to local buyers. I
hope to add value to their future exhibitions by offering a
comprehensive financial service to prospective buyers, on behalf
of Omega. Our association with this highly regarded company
has other benefits to the local property scene. In terms of
Exchange Control legislation, Non-Resident buyers purchasing
property in South Africa may avail of local mortgage borrowings
of up to 50% of the purchase price. Until now, these clients
have been left to their own devices to raise the balance of
the purchase price, or the full purchase price, on their off-shore
properties. Now The Bond Man, through our association with Omega
Mortgage Services, can facilitate this leg of the transaction
in a seamless and professional manner. Please don’t hesitate
to contact us should you have any questions about mortgaging
or re-financing a property in the UK.
Whilst in London, I also popped in to the annual Homes
Overseas Exhibition at Earls Court, where several South
African property companies were represented.
Closer
to home, I am thrilled to announce that, in a major coup for
The Bond Man, Jenni Warrington has come on
board as bond broker extraordinaire! She and I have worked
together in banking and property finance for the past 20 years,
so her resignation as one of MortgageSA’s top consultants
to join my business is a source of immense pride to me. Together,
we are gearing up for what has already started as a very busy
summer on the Cape Town property scene.

Revenue Stamp duty is no longer payable when you register
a bond or a further advance, which makes it cheaper than
ever to increase your existing "access bond"
and put your home loan to work. The Bond Man can facilitate
this for you. for more information.
